So really, what is the difference between round and half round rings?

Do you know the difference between a round band and a half-round comfort band? I can hear you saying "Um, not really. They look a little different on I guess." Because really who but the people who make this stuff knows this?

On the surface, one is a circle; the other is flat on the inside (i.e., half-round). Yep. Complicated.

Half round vs full round ring profile.

This not only changes the profile on your hand but also half round is more comfortable (and slightly fussier to make). This is why they are often called "comfort bands". This is also the traditional shape of ring bands.
Both stack nicely with other rings of many shapes (I see you wedding sets).

Profile of full round and half round ring bands on hand. See how the round sticks up more and the half round sits flat.

Which should you buy? It is personal preference really. Want more comfort? Buy the band. Don't mind the round? Save a buck and buy the round.

The more you know...

I make both of these rings in a nice friendly stacking width, though they also both look great alone. Click the pictures to find out more (link goes to my Etsy shop).
